I had the opportunity to work with John these last 6 months to get into shape for my wedding. Not only did he help me look my best for my big day, but I am also the strongest I’ve ever been and more confident in my abilities and form in the gym - something I truly never had in all these years of working out. Highly recommend checking this place out and meeting with the coaches! You won’t regret it.

A date on the calendar. A plan to match it.
A wedding, a milestone birthday, a trip, a photo shoot. A fixed date is one of the best reasons to start training, because it turns “someday” into a plan with a deadline.
Sound familiar?
- The date is booked and you want to look and feel your best for it.
- You’ve started workout plans before and they faded after a few weeks.
- Your schedule is already full with planning, work, and everything else.
- You don’t want a crash diet that leaves you exhausted on the day.
How we plan for the date
Work back from the date
At the free assessment we look at your goal, your starting point, and how many weeks you have. The program is built in phases that peak at the right time instead of rushing at the end.
Build strength and shape
Strength training changes how you look and how you carry yourself. Each phase builds muscle and confidence, not just a lower number on the scale.
Nutrition you can live with
General nutrition guidance is part of every session, so your eating supports the goal without leaving you drained in the busiest months of your year.
Appointments that keep you on track
A standing session time, 45–60 minutes, keeps training in your week even when planning takes over. Every rep is logged, so you can see the progress as the date gets closer.
Sessions run 45–60 minutes at Carpio Strength & Conditioning, 213 Geary Ave in Toronto’s west end, or in your home anywhere in the city.
Clients who trained for a goal

I’ve struggled with weight loss my entire life and had a love-hate relationship with exercise, primarily due to my lack of confidence and knowledge. That all changed when I started training with John! From day one, John’s approach was transformative. He not only taught me the ins and outs of the gym but also instilled a sense of confidence I never had before. His patience and expertise made every session enjoyable and effortless. I’m thrilled to share that I’ve lost nearly 30 lbs! I feel stronger than ever, and thanks to John, I genuinely love working out. Each session is something I look forward to, as he knows exactly how to start at my level and gradually push me to achieve more. If you’re looking for a personal trainer who can truly make a difference in your fitness journey, I highly recommend John. I’ve never loved the gym more, and I’m excited about my progress.
Common questions
How far ahead should I start?
The earlier the better. Several months gives us time to build real strength and change your shape gradually. If you have less time, we can still make meaningful progress; we’ll set realistic expectations at the assessment.
Can my partner train with me?
Yes. Couples sessions are $115 for both of you, and the program is adjusted to each person’s level.
What happens after the event?
That’s up to you. Many clients keep training once they see what they can do, and the program shifts to the next goal.
How much does it cost?
One-on-one sessions are $70–$80, and the assessment is free. There are no contracts. Many workplace Wellness Spending Accounts cover personal training.
